Gulika Nāga

Gulika Nāga (also called Māṇḍī / Māndi in astrology) is a serpent‑deity associated with Saturn (Śani), time‑bound karmic effects, and the darker, restrictive forces of fate. In Purāṇic and Tantric serpent lists, Gulika appears as one of the Nāga kings —a powerful subterranean serpent spirit. Gulika Nāga is a Nāga‑devatā, a serpent deity belonging to the extended family of Vāsuki, Takṣaka, Karkoṭaka, Padma, Kulika, etc. In classical Nāga lists (Nāga nāma mālā), Gulika is mentioned as one of the serpents who dwell in the Pātāla‑loka and govern specific karmic or elemental functions.
Type: Nāga » serpent‑deity associated with Sun Chariot
Realm: Pātāla or subterranean regions identified in the rāśi chart. But can be found in any nakṣatra and the lord of the nakṣatra carries the poison of Gulika.

Gulika represents the tightening of karmic knots—events that force a person to confront past actions. As a Nāga, Gulika governs: venom (poisons, drugs), secret enemies & psychological shadows (12H) and hidden diseases (8H) – both bhava having Saturn as karaka. Kulika is a well‑known Nāga (often associated with Kālī and fierce energies) and is the Capricorn rulership of Saturn associating with Ketu. Gulika is a separate Nāga, more Saturnine and karmic in nature. Gulika Nāga is propitiated through Nāga‑pratiṣṭhā, Sarpa‑bali, Aśleṣa Bali and/or Milk abhiṣeka to serpent stones (nāga‑śilā) and not real cobra.

Two thoughts (a) Gulika = Māṇḍī (b) Gulika ≠ Māṇḍī (two different longitudes) and (c) a ratri mandi –  mn’ in software. Gulika means “tablet” which can be medicine or a drug, whereas Mandi is simply the slowing down, ageing, deterioration process which is not reversible.

Carefully observe the planets associated with Gulika (gl) – Ketu is in maraṇa kāraka sthāna with Gulika showing that this can become a danger, and since Ketu is lagneśa as well, he will administer the poison into this body. He did this by drinking the water kept near his bed » bādhakeśa Moon is MKS in 8th bhāva – Saturn kāraka and Gulika will also work through this in Saturn daśā. MKS-Moon is in Mithuna rāśi → Mercury brings the poison and lords the antardaśā. Finally Jupiter the lord of food (2nd lord) associates with Gulika in triṁśāṁśa d30V chart in 6th house (enemy) – his Russian chef was the one who placed that poisoned water near his bed. Lal Bahadur Shastri had died in Tashkent, hours after signing a declaration with Pakistan President Muhammad Ayub Khan post-1965 Indo-Pak war during talks moderated by Soviet Premier Alexei Keynoting. He reportedly died from a massive heart attack but questions were raised on the circumstances of his death on foreign soil when cold war was at its peak.

Events: (1) Within hours, the Soviet authorities detained the Russian cook who attended to Shastri under suspicion of poisoning, though he was later cleared! (2) Unexplained blue marks and cuts on his body when it was flown back to India, causing his relatives to vehemently reject the natural-causes verdict. (3) Despite his status as a sitting Prime Minister who died abroad, no post-mortem was ever conducted on his body – Indian politicians also involved. (4) Raj Narain Committee of Rajya Sabha looked into Shastri’s death during the Janata Party government in late seventies. All records of parliamentary committee have vanished without trace. Welcome to India!
