Vara sandhi in this chart hits Merc (Wed birth) » Merc is in ★Hastā and afflicts Moon as śubhapati particularly. Śubhapati is responsible for sustenance (Viṣṇu form) and Lakṣmī (Ve) is unable to feed anymore leading to disease like AIDS also.
AIDS is largely due to lagna rūpa-doṣa. Lagna is afflicted by Sun in saṅdhi, and both are vargottama meaning that the doṣa is very strong and cannot be removed. A vargottama doṣa can only be removed by a tattva level graha using sāma-dāma-daṇḍa-bheda formula (mantra accordingly).
Ghāṭikā doṣa is a 5H doṣa. Middle life is hell. Sun is in GL saṅdhi and will afflict between 24-60 years of age.
